You’re beautiful. So very, very beautiful. We’ve been talking a lot about confidence, what it is, where it comes from, and where we should place it on our list of priorities. Today, let’s look at it from a different perspective. . If you’ve known me or been reading this blog for any amount of time, you know I love beauty and fashion. I love how it’s one of the easiest ways to boost your confidence.
It takes time to work through establishing real confidence and living your life from that source, but taking a few minutes to do something for yourself like picking out a cute outfit or getting a haircut is one of the fastest ways to boost your confidence. While many think that beauty and fashion are vain, I see them as an opportunity to discover yourself and boost your confidence instantaneously. Let’s look at how beauty and fashion are really confidence boosters.
Why We Need Confidence Boosters
We’re human. Plain and simple. As I sat with the topic of confidence and wrote out this series, I came to the conclusion that, like many things on this side of life, we will have highs and lows. Whether that’s figuring out what is most is important or teaching our children to be confident, we will have ups and downs. Having go-to confidence boosters is a way of us preparing ourselves for the reality of life.
A key factor in boosting your confidence is simply looking the part. It’s called ‘enclothed cognition’ and it’s a principle that has been studied by psychologists for years. The idea is simple: When we wear certain clothes, we actually begin to embody the attributes of those clothes. For example, if you put on a pair of yoga pants, you may feel more flexible or calm compared to wearing jeans.
The crazy thing is that this even happens when we don’t realize it’s happening! In one study, researchers had participants wear either a white lab coat or their regular street clothes while performing various tasks. Those who wore the lab coat performed significantly better on tasks requiring attention than those who didn’t, even though they didn’t know they were wearing it!
Beautiful, confidence is contagious. Confidence makes you more motivated and productive. Confidence helps you focus on what’s important, not your imperfections or flaws. Let’s protect it.
How to Use Style as a Confidence Booster
We as women spend so much time getting dressed up to impress others that we forget to dress up for ourselves. Let’s start intentionally doing more for us. It can be as simple as switching up your hair from straight to wavy or as complicated as finding the perfect pair of shoes to go with that new skirt. The key to looking great and allowing style to boost your confidence is finding clothes that fit your body type and flatter your figure. Once you start doing that, you won’t have to worry about trends or labels – because you’ll know what looks great on you!
You’ll be surprised at how much you can love yourself when you look and feel great! When you feel good about the way you look, it enhances and boosts your confidence.
If you’re like most people, you probably don’t put a lot of thought into how your clothes make you feel. You just pick out something easy and comfortable to wear so you can get on with the rest of your day. But, how you dress is more important than you might think. In fact, it may be playing a bigger role in your confidence — or lack thereof — than you realize.
Dress For Success With These Self-Confidence Boosters:
1. Comfortable Clothes
One of the easiest ways to boost your self-confidence is to wear comfortable clothes. When your outfit feels good, it makes you feel better about yourself too.
2. Power Colors
Choosing to wear power colors can make you feel more powerful and confident too. Red, yellow, and orange are some of the best power colors that have been linked to higher levels of confidence in both men and women. However, any color that makes you feel good about yourself will work to boost your self-esteem. If other people don’t like it, that’s their problem!
3. Clothes That Fit
Wearing clothes that fit properly can also help boost your self-esteem and self-confidence. Wearing baggy clothing or clothes that are not flattering will have the opposite effect.

Using Beauty, Self-Care, & Wellness as Confidence Boosters
Self-care has become a buzzword lately, but beyond getting regular massages, facials, and mani/pedis, what is real self-care? I would define self-care as being aware of your needs and taking care of them.
It is a mind-altering experience to be self-aware and know what you need emotionally and physically. By honoring that, you are better able to take care of the people around you.
Self-care is especially important for moms who do it all because we can easily lose our sense of self when we have children. It’s so easy to get caught up in the busyness of life — carting kids everywhere, making sure everyone has what they need, and keeping the house in order.
It’s not just about looking good but feeling good. The two go hand in hand. After all, how you feel inside is what shows on the outside. In order to feel your best, you have to take care of yourself. That means taking time for yourself and doing things that help boost your confidence.
Beauty is also a trending topic but it’s not a simple term. It has various meanings and concepts. Beauty is an expression of one’s mind, body, and soul. The beauty that comes from within can be reflected in your personality and attitude towards life.
A lot of people think that beauty products and applying makeup are superficial. While we shouldn’t be obsessed with it and should even be cautious about what we apply to our skin, the brands we buy, etc. we can still appreciate that it’s really about feeling comfortable with yourself and your style. It’s self-expression. The way you present yourself to the world says a lot about you as a person and how you feel in your own skin.
Here are some tips to help you love the skin you’re in and feel great about yourself:
- Set personal goals
- Exercise regularly
- Take care of your skin
- Drink plenty of water
- Invest in quality products
- Practice good hygiene
- Eat a healthy diet
Ultimately, we as women are capable of so much more than we realize. We have the potential to become true leaders and game-changers in our communities and within the world at large. I hope that the information and tips in this series will give you a renewed sense of your own potential, and help you gain the confidence you need to pursue your dreams without fail.
