Oftentimes as moms, we tend to develop a block in our minds that we can never be more than just that- “A Mom.” That’s simply not true. While being a mom comes with many beautiful adventures, you can still enjoy both a mom life and a life made specifically for you.
You may find yourself struggling to make some time for yourself, with your never-ending to-do lists and constant worry for your children and spouse. It may feel like there’s no time to focus on yourself with your anxiety being up the wall and the constant feeling of not being seen for who you truly are anymore.
Affirmations are a vital part of everyday life. Seeing and hearing some positive affirmations daily will help manage some of the highs and lows of motherhood. Replacing negative beliefs with positive beliefs will help create a better environment mentally and physically.
Don’t lose yourself trying to make everyone else around you happy, take care of the necessities, and take care of yourself!
What are affirmations?
Simply put – affirmations are positive statements that you meditate on and speak over yourself and your situations. Recently, affirmations have become widely accepted as a powerful tool. As a woman of faith, I’ve enjoyed watching the mainstream media catch up to a biblical principle. Proverbs 18:21 teaches us that life and death are in the power of our tongue and we see God make a promise in Isaiah 55:11 that His word will not return to Him void.
How do affirmations work?
Affirmations are so powerful because as you speak life over yourself, you begin to believe you are worthy of the declarations coming to pass for YOU. This is where the game changes. I’m sure you’ve heard the saying “whether you think you can or you think you can’t – you’re right”. This holds so much truth. The human mind is an incredibly complex machine. What you allow yourself to think and believe will ultimately manifest itself in some form. If you think your life is over now that you’re a mom – your life is over. If you think the best is yet to come – the best is yet to come.
Why are affirmations important?
Affirmations are used to motivate you subconsciously and encourage a positive mindset. As you read the affirmations out loud daily, you’re reprogramming your mind to no longer speak negatively about yourself, instead, you are spewing positive thoughts and vibes into your body. This will help you gain the courage and confidence needed to achieve your daily goals.
The only way this would work is if you truly believe the words you are speaking. Be sure you choose affirmations that really resonate with you.
